The Windsor Chapter of Therapeutic Paws of Canada organization visited the University of Windsor campus on Monday, November 28, 2016, to give students a bit of furry and friendly therapy. Students had a chance to spent some time with the trained dogs that regularly visit different locations looking to ease a little stress or just produce some warm fuzzy vibes. Studies of spider silks indicate that they may outperform virtually all synthetic fibres in terms of strength, elasticity and toughness. To date, most silks studied come from only a select few species and likely underrepresent the immense diversity of the clades. Here, protein and mRNA sequence analyses were used to study silk from two types of spider.

The program will focus on the application of (both theory and implementation based) computer science to social networks and game theory, and it will be co advised by Alexa, Tom, and David Liben Nowell (Carleton College). The program will primarily involve students of Carleton and Oberlin, and we hope to include one or two students from other similar liberal arts schools in the program if circumstances permit..
