The household sector consumes roughly 30% of Earth’s energy resources and emits approximately 17% of its carbon dioxide. As such, developing appropriate policies to reduce the CO2 emissions, which are associated with the world’s rapidly growing urban population, is a high priority. This, in turn, will enable the creation of cities that respect the natural environment and the well being of future generations.

Wind borne debris is one of the principal causes of building envelope failure during severe storms. It is often of interest in windstorm risk modelling to estimate the potential flight trajectories and impact energy of a piece of debris. This thesis presents research work aimed at the development and validation of a numerical model for the simulation of plate type windborne debris.

A second phase of this flood mitigation project is currently planned for early 2020. One concrete vault (to be installed with the current project) will be removed and the 4’x8′ RCBC will be extended into a new wingwall and swale that will run parallel to Shady Point Dr in the farm field between Shady Point Dr and Midtown Rd. The City does not currently own the necessary land for this second phase but is working through the acquisition process.

The first link is a point of view video (see below), compiled from dozens of Glass wearers. All we can say is that their lives look a lot more exciting than ours. The second link explains in a running gallery just what Glass does and how it works. Last month, regulators voted 2 to 1 to extend a temporary moratorium on utility shutoffs during the COVID 19 crisis for residential customers until Nov. 1. The decision essentially meant gas and electric utilities would be barred from disconnecting service through April 15, since the state’s winter moratorium takes effect Nov.

The trial starts this week. Trump lawyers have indicated that they plan to argue he merely “exercised his First Amendment right under the Constitution to express his belief that the election results were suspect” an argument 144 leading First Amendment and constitutional scholars from across the political spectrum called “legally frivolous” did not tell his supporters to violently attack the Capitol in a fiery speech right before the assault, and cannot be impeached since he is no longer in office. That last argument is popular among Senate Republicans, but top conservative constitutional lawyer Charles Cooper urged them in a new Wall Street Journal op ed to disregard that flawed, illogical view and “judge the former president misconduct on the merits.” As far as the merits go, federal “court documents show that more than two dozen people charged in the attack specifically cited Trump and his calls to gather that day in describing on social media or in conversations with others why they decided to take action by coming to Washington,” The Washington Post reports.
