However, the school never gave us some specific form that they were supposed to (we found out too late and are STILL fighting this!), which would have given her the ability to carry on with her IEP ( all it entailed services, accommodations and etc), despite being in a private school setting. She’s since been to two different private schools, and while both were wonderful, neither one offered the IEP as a plan for accessing the curriculum. At least in our state, private schools have the choice whether or not to have IEPs, as long as they develop SOME type of educational “plan” for those who need it (a joke, honestly.).
