We are expecting today’s collections in Birtley could also be affected.”We have been asking residents to take in their bins if we’ve been unable to empty them as usual and to put them back out for collection on Saturday morning when we will be providing catch up collections.”Northumberland A spokesperson for Northumberland County Council said: “Fortunately we haven missed any general waste collections as the affected areas were getting recycling bins collected this week.Newcastle A Newcastle City Council spokesperson said: “Despite the challenges posed by the very cold, wintry weather our crews have worked extremely hard to complete as many collections as possible across the city.”Where we have been unable to reach some bins, we have asked residents to leave them out, and are endeavouring to empty them as soon as we can.
