You can unsubscribe at any time.Thank you for subscribingWe have more newslettersShow meSee ourprivacy noticeA police officer and PCSO were attacked as they attended an emergency incident in Nuneaton.John Yates, aged 32 of Sunburst Drive, Nuneaton admitted two charges of assaulting an emergency worker as well as a charge of obstruction/resisting a constable in the execution of duty.This followed an incident in Meadow Court in Abbey Green on Friday (February 5) where the PCSO and another officer were assaulted.Yates pushed the PCSO and shouted at her after she tried to issue him with a fine for breach of Covid legislation.The PCSO had gone to a flat with a council worker who was going to carry out repairs. Yates was in the flat with the tenant in breach of Covid legislation.The PCSO called for back up and officers arrived to arrest Yates.While he was being arrested Yates assaulted one of the arresting officers.Yates appeared at Coventry Magistrates Court yesterday (February 8) to face the charges.
