Ron Morgan, the museum keeper, was a well known city activist and councillor, and even dropped his own kerbs.He set up his impressive collection in the 1970s, and with his wife and children, grew an incredible archive of children toys over a period of 45 years.Katherine Waring, a close family friend of Mr Morgan, got in touch with CoventryLive to share her memories from inside the museum, and her hopes for its future use.Coronavirus latest in Coventry and WarwickshireAs we reported in our Coventry newsletter, the grade two listed gatehouse building is now in the hands of Historic Coventry and Coventry City council, and plans have now been submitted to turn the old toy museum into luxury tourist accommodation.Mr Morgan was a surrogate grandfather to Katherine Waring now 16 year old daughter, Meme.Meme biological father was very close to Ron, and saw him as a father figure.
