Erin Lehman conflicted on key points with her version.Lehman works in the Ottawa Police Partner Assault Unit and was the lead investigator in the case in which Ray was the trial judge. As the trial was drawing to a close, Ray invited her to his chambers through a court intermediary. The 41 year old defendant, who spent 14 months in custody awaiting his trial, now faces the prospect of being re tried on charges of sexual assault, forcible confinement and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.”He feels he was rightfully acquitted and was hoping for it to be over,” said his lawyer Cline Dostaler, adding that in her opinion Ray had shown no bias.Ray had acquitted the man on all three counts but found him guilty of the lesser offences of assault and two counts of breach of recognizance.
