The employer simply cannot guarantee your full privacy when using their equipment for personal stuff (nor should they have to if it risks compromising the security of the network, clint data, etc.). So you have a choice: you can do it under work time and it might happen the employer logs something private (a website you visit, or their scanning engine flags something you download through email and is analysed by IT, etc.). Or you don’t, in which case your privacy is safe for sure.
