I do not have a PhD in 10 subjects, though I did spend the better part of a decade in graduate studies focused on environmental planning and policy implementation. I disagree with that notion though. Reading lots of peer reviewed material and putting together the dots gives a functionally useful understanding of the situation, whether you have a PhD or not.
