I think you being a little too conservative here. That the whole reason the sumps exist: to inspect for water / contaminants and remove small amounts of water / contaminants. Most manufacturers just say to sump until clear of debris or water (within reason if you sump twenty odd times and still have water or debris in there, then there obviously a bigger issue.) I used to always get water in the sumps first thing in the morning in the old clapped out 172s I flew.
