The defense is tighter in handball simply because they standing closer together, so I imagine finding the openings are harder, making a pass to the “lineman(?)” In the middle of the defense seems to me like a finesse play you don see in basketball for example. You also have to brawl more from what I seen, in a brawl I don think the basketball players have any significant advantage.
